Hello<>,
Yesterday morning, my client James said:
“I have so much gratitude for the simplicity of getting through and getting better.”
Can you get a sense that something life-changing is happening for him?
Transition could include changing a career or selling a business. Uncertainty. What comes next? Is it safe? Will I regret it? I’m thinking of Chris, who had been in his current position for 20 years. He knew it was time for something new. But there was so much noise inside of him he couldn’t get clear on anything. So, we cleaned up the noise. Then Chris was able to create a safe and graceful departure from the past he’d been clinging to. And take himself into his future!
Making more money often rings as working more or harder. I see people start making more money. They’re being more effective and successful in what they’re doing. And slowing down a notch or two at the same time. The thing is, they couldn’t do anything other than what they’d been doing from their old thinking. Once we really examined that thinking. Once we separated the part that helps them from those habits of thought that make it so darn hard. Then, their worlds began to change. I worked with Mark, who owns a service business which had annual revenues of about $300,000. A couple of years later revenues are up to almost $1 million.
Stress takes a much bigger toll than one realizes. Almost everyone I meet is trying to do too much. And their own brains are so busy it’s just exhausting. It’s what we know, and it becomes normal. You feel exhausted, frustrated, like you’re never going to get caught up, you really need a getaway to recharge. We opt into that because it’s all we know. Until we know something different. I have a good friend and client, Thomas, who is founder and CEO of a large private company. Thomas told me after about a year of working together: “I’ve figured out I don’t have to be shot out of a cannon every morning!” His experience of life has changed dramatically for the better. And his company’s revenues are about 50% greater than they had been.
Some years ago, I created my group coaching programs to give more people access. It’s the same work at a fraction of the investment for one-on-one coaching. Participants in these programs include company owners, CEOs, and members of their management teams. We’ve had parents send their adult children, and their spouses. Professionals and entrepreneurs. The work we do is transformational.
